What a Concord yard actually asks for

Older ranches, new subdivisions and larger wooded lots — three different starting points.

Older ranch lots usually have settled grade

A good part of Concord is established ranch housing where the ground has had decades to settle and the planting is mature. The work there is corrective — fixing where water has learned to go — rather than starting from a blank yard.

Newer subdivisions start compacted

Newer neighbourhoods have the standard problem: construction traffic compacted the subsoil, sod went over the top, and water now sits. Breaking that compaction and setting real grade comes before any surface.

Cabarrus County holds the permit

Concord is in Cabarrus County. That is a different office and different thresholds from the Iredell and Mecklenburg sides of our area, and we file accordingly.

FAQ

Concord NC Landscaping Questions

What Concord homeowners ask about drainage that changed over time.

Ask Us Anything →
My Concord ranch has drainage that got worse over the years. Why?

Grade shifts, beds get built up, gutters get redirected, and water gradually finds a new route — usually toward the house. It is correctable, but the fix is finding the current path rather than adding a drain where the water ends up. Call 704-327-5663.

My subdivision yard floods and the house is new. Is that normal?

It is extremely common. Construction compaction stops the subsoil absorbing and sod hides it. The repair is mechanical, not cosmetic.

Which county permits work in Concord?

Cabarrus County. We file with whichever of the five county authorities in our area governs your address.

Do you work on larger wooded lots around Concord?

Yes. Those need water intercepted before it reaches the house rather than collected afterwards.

Is bilingual service available?

Yes — English and Spanish, from the Concord site visit onward.

How much does landscaping cost in Concord, NC?

We publish our ranges instead of making you call to find out. Most paver patios we build land between $14 and $24 per square foot installed, so a 300-square-foot patio — a grill area and a table for six — usually runs $4,200 to $7,200. Retaining walls price by exposed face, generally $28 to $45 per square foot. Where a job falls in that spread comes down to the paver you choose, how much dirt has to move, whether a machine can reach the back yard, and what the water is already doing. In Concord most of what we price is corrective drainage, patios and concrete. The estimate is free, on site, and in writing before anything starts — see the full cost breakdown or call 704-327-5663.
